I started my journey with astrophotography about 4 years ago.

Astrophotography is the imaging of astronomical objects, celestial events or area’s of the night sky.

 

Each session takes several hours to several days to obtain long exposure images. This is accomplished through long time exposure as both file and digital camera can accumulate and sum photons over long periods of time. Since the Earth is constantly rotating, telescopes and equipment are rotated in the opposite direction to follow the apparent motion of the stars overhead.

 

The process requires learning the sky, learning the equipment and learning how to process them.
